Shure's Set/Transfer System consists of a solid state X-Ray Machine, a Non-Rotational Goniometer and  a unique Digital/Analog Ratemeter.  The goniometer    is unique in the fact that it does not  rotate.  Instead, different angles are obtained using the principal of a precision sine bar. By rotating the steel transfer/mounting plate against  two ground and hardened indexing buttons and utilizing Shure's precision  shims, exact angles are easy to obtain. This method avoids rotational and  parallax errors inherent in ALL rotational goniometers.

Bars are set on special steel transfer plates and can be consistently set and transferred with less than 12 seconds or .2 minute of arc error .
